Key Scripture: “As He is, so are we in this world.” – 1 John 4:17 (KJV)
Introduction: A REVELATION OF IDENTITY. The apostle John does not say, “As Jesus was…”
He says, “As Jesus is…” This means your identity is not based on the Jesus who walked the dusty streets of Galilee but the risen, glorified, victorious Christ seated at the right hand of the Father. John is revealing a present reality, not a future hope. A now identity, not a someday identity. A spiritual truth, not a motivational idea. This is a revelation of identity, authority, and representation.
- AS JESUS IS IN RIGHTEOUSNESS – SO ARE YOU. Jesus is righteous, fully accepted before the Father. So are you. You are not trying to earn righteousness. You are the righteousness of God in Christ. You stand before God without guilt. You pray without shame. You serve without condemnation. This truth destroys fear, insecurity, and spiritual inferiority. Identity: You are accepted. Position: You are justified. Standing: You are loved.
- AS JESUS IS IN AUTHORITY – SO ARE YOU. Jesus is seated far above principalities and powers. So are you. You are not a victim of circumstances. You are not powerless against darkness. You are not at the mercy of the enemy. You carry: Kingdom authority, Spiritual dominion, Heaven’s backing, The name of Jesus, When you speak, heaven recognises your voice, because you speak from Christ, not from yourself.
Task: Explore the believer’s authority.
- AS JESUS IS IN PURPOSE – SO ARE YOU. Jesus came to: Reveal the Father and destroy the works of the devil. Save the lost, Heal the broken, Bring light into darkness. And as He is, so are you. You are not in the UK by accident. You are not in your workplace by coincidence.You are not in ministry by chance. You are a Kingdom representative, a carrier of God’s presence, a continuation of Jesus’ mission on earth.
Task: Explore Kingdom’s purpose.
- AS JESUS IS IN LOVE – SO ARE YOU. Jesus is the full expression of the Father’s love. So are you. You are called to: Love boldly, Forgive freely, Serve humbly, Intercede passionately, Evangelise compassionately, Your life becomes a mirror of Christ’s love to a broken world.
- AS JESUS IS IN VICTOR Y- SO ARE YOU. Jesus is not fighting for victory – He is seated in victory. So are you. You fight from victory, not for victory. You pray from triumph, not from fear. You stand from a place of assurance, not anxiety. Your victory is not based on your strength but on His finished work.
Task: Study victory in Christ.
- AS JESUS IS IN GLORY – SO ARE YOU. Jesus is glorified. And the Bible says He has given us His glory. This means you carry His presence. You reflect His nature. You shine His lightYou manifest His life You are not ordinary. You are not natural. You are not common. You are a reflection of the glorified Christ in this world.
CONCLUSION – WALK IN YOUR TRUE IDENTITY “As Jesus is, so are we in this world” is not a slogan.
It is a spiritual reality.
It is a heavenly identity.
It is a Kingdom mandate. You are:
As righteous as He is
As accepted as He is
As authorised as He is
As purposeful as He is
As victorious as He is
As loved as He is
As glorious as He is
Walk in it.
Speak from it.
Pray for it.
Live from it.
